Forest School garden made at Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill

We are delighted to announce we have opened our Forest School garden at Billy Mill. This video shows its construction from a concept by Director, Kaye Kilsby, aided by our very own qualified Forest School Teacher, Mark Shotten right through to the minute the children see it for the first time! Watch for yourself their excited reaction!

We are re-opening 1st of June!

We are delighted to announce, after tonight’s government announcement, we are re-opening Tynemouth Nursery, Tynemouth Nursery at jesmond and  Zone4kids Whitley Lodge for all children from Monday June the 1st.

Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill, which has stayed open for Key Workers, will from Monday be open for all children.

A saftey video will be released shortly and our ‘Safety Operating Procedures’ can be downloaded by clicking the ‘stay alert’ logo below.

Government guide for Nurseries 24/05/2020

The Government has released today a Department for Education document on guidance regarding ‘A planning guide for early years and childcare settings’ re-opening from June 1st at the earliest.

Needless to say we will be studying this over the next few days and making sure everything is covered by our Safety Operating Procedure, released on the 20th of May 2020. Will will make amendements if necessary.

Tynemouth Nursery and Zone4kids to re-open June 1st

Subject to a final OK from the government we will be re-opening, for all children, at most nurseries from June the 1st.

We have of course remained open at Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill for Key Workers from all our settings and new procedures have been implemented with regard social distancing of staff/parents etc., which have proved to be successful. We will continue to review all our procedures with advice from the DfE, Ofsted, the Council and other nursery bodies to ensure we have safe working policies for the children, staff and parents.

We will announce further news and confirmation of which nurseries will re-open as soon as possible.

Latest update from the Directors 11th May 2020

Hi everyone

I do hope you are well and continue to be safe with your families.

After the speech last night (Sunday the 10th of May) we have some sort of indication as to when we may be able to re-open.

June the 1st would appear to be the earliest date we will be able to open our doors again, subject to the R number being less than 1.

As some of our parents/carers start returning to work we may get requests for childcare but at this moment in time we are still governed by the Key Worker and vulnerable child list. Until this is changed we will carry on as we are, open at Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill.

We do expect a lot more information to start coming out today and later on this week. We will keep you posted on how this effects us.

We are working on plans as to how we re-open and how we can make our workplace as safe as possible for staff, parents and children. We have our own ideas and we will be combining this with advice from the Dfe, Ofsted, Council, Management and all the many Nursery groups that collectively advise on things we will have to do and comply with.

Again a big thanks to those at Billy Mill and to everyone please rest assured we are continually monitoring and working on what we have to do to re-open safely, when we are able to.

Kindest regards

Robert and Kaye Kilsby
