ADVERSE WEATHER

We have managed to open today at all settings (28th of February) with the exception of Zone4kids Coquet Park as the school has closed, well done to the staff! Can we politely ask all parents/carers for your co-operation during these adverse weather conditions.

We need to maintain staffing ratios and you may need to wait with your child until the required staff have arrived safely.

During these adverse weather conditions we will look carefully at the weather forecast and if there is no improvement forecasted we will close earlier in order to allow more time for safe pick ups and staff to get home safely.

We will keep you informed during the day.

Thank you for your co-operation.

New Tynemouth Nursery Manager

A huge Tynemouth Nursery welcome to our new Manager, Melanie Robertson, who started last week. Melanie, pictured here being welcomed by Director, Kaye Kilsby, has an impressive C.V. and a wealth of childcare experience, she joins us from Kids First where she was Deputy Manager. The pull of our fantastic Nursery was too much for Melanie and she is loving her start in post.

Already she has made lots of suggestions to further improve the Nursery and the first of these is to move her office downstairs so it will be much easier for her to see the parents more often. This will be finished soon. I am sure you will all join Kaye and I in wishing Melanie all the very best for the future in her new role as Nursery Manager of Tynemouth Nursery.

Fire engine visits Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill

It was great fun at Nursery today when one of our Dads and his colleagues from the local fire brigade visited us to show all the children their big red fire engine!

A big Tynemouth Nursery thank you to all the firemen involved and especially for staying long enough, to let every child have a good look and play at putting out a fire.

New Manager has great start!

We are delighted to introduce, Sarah Kirsopp, our new manager at Tynemouth Nursery at North Shields.

Sarah Kirsopp, Manager

Sarah has previously been a Manager at Tynemouth Nursery at TMC and a Deputy at Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill.

She had only been in post a short while when Ofsted arrived for a full inspection! Happily Sarah passed with flying colours and led the team through a very good inspection securing a good Ofsted inspection rating.

The report reads very well and we are all proud of the many great comments made by the Ofsted inspector.

These are some of the quotes from the Ofsted report:

“Partnerships with parents are excellent. Parents speak extremely highly of staff. They comment on how much their children have developed in confidence since starting at the setting. Parents feel valued and are provided with a range of ways to contribute to their children’s learning.”

“Children, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress from what they can do when they first start at the setting. They are well mannered and behave well. Children complete age-appropriate tasks and demonstrate good levels of respect towards one another. For example, they hand out cups before mealtime and say thank you to their friends. Children follow good hygiene practices. They wash their hands before mealtimes and after using the bathroom. Children develop the key skills needed for future learning and the eventual move on to school.”

Needless to say we are delighted with Sarah’s start at the nursery and wish her well in the future!
