Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Here at Tynemouth Nursery Group, SEND provision and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to have an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring every child is valued and provided with support to thrive to their full potential.

We build good relationships with all families and professionals to provide the appropriate curriculum for all children, enabling high expectations for all. We believe that every child deserves to be heard and valued and have access to the same opportunities.

We have qualified SENDCo’s in every nursery who are trained in identifying those who need extra support. SENDCo’s are led by a highly experienced Area SENDCo, who has over 25 years of childcare experience, 20 of which have been working with children with additional needs, her passion lies in providing opportunities for all children.

The NPA Stamp of Approval Scheme is an award given to Early Years settings who have demonstrated they deliver inclusive early years education based upon Portage Principles.

This is formal recognition and acknowledgement of inclusive settings that ensure high quality provision for children with additional needs.
